I've been sailing for 50 years, starting as a child with my parents at Shearwater Sailing Club near Warminster. Along with my sister we cut our teeth racing on the Mirror circuit, before moving onto 420s and Fireballs. But that was just the start over the years I've sailed nearly everything including the B14, 29er, 49er, 18ft skiffs, Laser 5000 and Megles 24.

Through most of my competitive sailing I've sailed with Paul Constable and we've had a fair amount of success at national and international levels, winning championships and races. Alongside that I've been fortunate to have a career working in the marine industry for LDC / RS Sailing, Ovington Boats and Hyde Sails.

So there's a wealth of experience, sailing in all conditions, understanding the demands on clothing and equipment and what a sailor really needs.

But what has extensive industry and sailing experience taught me? You're not going to win, or get the most from your sailing, if you've not got the right clothing and equipment.
